WEATHERSHIELD Cleaning & Restoration Services
It's that time of year again! Everyone is heading outside to enjoy their
deck, grilling out, and hanging out at the pool. If you are like everyone
else, you have big plans for the summer. As you think about those things,
you're probably thinking that your deck needs some work. That's why
you need to call us.
We are a professional company that specializes in restoring your deck,
privacy fence, or any natural wood product to a condition you can be proud
of. Our unique process includes mixing our own cleaning chemicals, vigorous
pressure washing, and applying our special wood preservative. Our
preservative completely seals the wood to protect it from all weather
elements for years to come. It outlasts anything you can buy off the shelf
in stores. Once applied, you should never have to chemically clean and
pressure wash your wood again.
Join the hundreds of people that have allowed us to restore and protect
their investment. Call us and we will explain the process in more detail
and answer all of your questions. We'll be glad to give you a FREE
estimate. Don't forget to check out our web site to see our Before and
After Portfolio.

STILL UNSETTLED: The weather is taking its time about settling down across
Alabama but there is hope of some dry and less humid weather by later
Thursday and Friday.
The atmosphere was still unstable across the state today. We are in a slight
risk area for a few severe thunderstorms. For the second day in a row a
batch of ugly thunderstorms advanced eastward across the south part of the
state. Two to three inches of rain fell over parts of Escambia County by
midday. Further north, a severe thunderstorm warning was required for Lamar
County in West Central Alabama early this afternoon.
Scattered thunderstorms will occur off and on tonight and early tomorrow
across Central Alabama. By daybreak, a cold front should be near Birmingham.
It is expected to push far enough south to give us a break from showers and
storms later Thursday and Friday. It will be short lived because the front
will head back north as a warm front
bringing us some more scattered storms by late in the weekend.
We could see some temperatures in the upper 50s Friday morning in the cooler
valleys of North Alabama.
AIR QUALITY: A Code Yellow was in effect today which means moderate air
quality.
TROPICAL WEATHER: No signs of tropical storm development anytime soon
although there are several tropical waves out across the Atlantic. The
official beginning of hurricane season was yesterday. Early in the season,
June for example, long-term records have shown that the best chance of a
named storm occurs in the Gulf of Mexico, NW Caribbean or along the South
Atlantic Coast. Even so, there is only about a 4% chance of a tropical storm
or hurricane moving ashore on the Alabama Coast during that time frame. The
first named storm this year will be Alex in honor of a good friend's
grandson in Good Hope, Cullman County and my own grandson. (Well, for all
named Alex.)
TWO WEAK TORNADOES: The NWS has determined, after a storm survey, that two
weak tornadoes (F0) were involved with the wind damage in Jefferson County
in the wee morning hours of Memorial Day.
WEDNESDAY NOTES: A rash of severe weather across the Dallas-Fort Worth area
overnight...major power outages...lots of hail...lots of trees down. Huge
hailstones 4-1/2 inches in diameter at Bryson, Texas-that will definitely
give you a big headache...the hottest temperature was also in Texas
yesterday-a blistering 111 at Boquillas Ranger Station...in South Arizona,
the temperature was expected to reach 108 this afternoon with the humidity a
mere 5 to 8 percent...the NWS issued a heat advisory and pointed out the
danger of dehydration...it happens before you know it...I came close on two
occasions while roaming through the desert.
MY TINY CORNER OF THE WORLD: A very enjoyable walk with Miss Molly this
morning...after recent rains everything is so lush and green. There was a
lone bird high up in the Old Crow Motel making a speech and he was very
loud. Maybe yesterday was election day for the birds too because it sounded
like he was delivering a concession speech. Life goes on for birds, dogs,
politicians and even me. Molly is reversing my aging for sure...she is a big
plus in my life and I remind her of that very often by giving her at least
10 tummy rubs a day!
