...Soggy Weather Continues...
Get ready for another cloudy, wet day. Sunshine has been almost impossible
to find around here since Sunday, and I doubt if we see any today. Pretty
much we have the same setup, a nearly stationary front draped across south
Alabama, and a stacked low along the front over south Mississippi. We will
highlight periods of rain again today, along with the possibility of a few
thunderstorms involved as well.
We begin to make a slow transition to a more "normal" pattern for June
tomorrow, but moisture will be deep, and the remnant of the upper low will
mean a good chance of at least a few passing showers or thunderstorms. The
sun might peak out a few times, but the sky will stay mostly cloudy. Then,
by Friday, there should be longer intervals of sunshine, and showers and
storms will become more scattered, and mainly diurnal in nature.
Temperatures Friday afternoon should return to the 80s, where we should be
for early June in Alabama.
THE WEEKEND: Lots of low level moisture will linger here on Saturday and
Sunday, but the main trigger for showers will be the daytime heating
process. So, both days should be warm and humid with a mix of sun and
clouds, and we will be dodging scattered showers and thunderstorms during
the afternoon hours. Showers might be a little more numerous on Sunday.
TUESDAY'S RAIN: Rain totals from around Alabama yesterday included .98" at
Ralph (Tuscaloosa county), .71" at Demopolis.70" at Clanton, .60" at Pelham,
.57" at Tuscaloosa, .51" at Riverchase, .42" at Legion Field, .38" at
Anniston, and .29" at Gadsden.
Lots of rain in central Florida yesterday, the total in Orlando was 2.78".
