from WEATHERSHIELD Cleaning & Restoration Services

It's that time of year again! Everyone is heading outside to enjoy their
deck, grilling out, and hanging out at the pool. If you are like everyone
else, you have big plans for the summer. As you think about those things,
you're probably thinking that your deck needs some work. That's why you need
to call us.

We are a professional company that specializes in restoring your deck,
privacy fence, or any natural wood product to a condition you can be proud
of. Our unique process includes mixing our own cleaning chemicals, vigorous
pressure washing, and applying our special wood preservative. Our
preservative completely seals the wood to protect it from all weather
elements for years to come. It outlasts anything you can buy off the shelf
in stores. Once applied, you should never have to chemically clean and
pressure wash your wood again.

Join the hundreds of people that have allowed us to restore and protect
their investment. Call us and we will explain the process in more detail
and answer all of your questions. We'll be glad to give you a FREE
estimate. Don't forget to check out our web site to see our Before and
After Portfolio.

OUR JUNE MONSOON: Well, it sure feels like a monsoon. If you step outside,
the air is thick with humidity and showers are almost a daily guarantee. A
wide band of showers moved across the northern third of the state again this
morning. These heavier amounts for the last 24 hours:

2.43 inches in Blount Springs
2.33 at Berlin (Cullman County)
2.78 at Fayette
1.54 in Steele (Northern St. Clair County)
1.50 in Jasper
1.62 in Gadsden
1.80 in Cullman
1.35 in Hanceville
1.47 at Albertville and Guntersville

The showers and thunderstorms will continue to be a daily risk all the way
through the holiday weekend with generally a good chance each day. See our
day-by-day forecast for details. There is a small risk that a few storms
could be severe later today.

RAINDROPS: At the Shelby County Airport, measurable rain has fallen on 16
of the first 27 days of June...Anniston reports 15 out of 27 with rain and
at Birmingham Airport 17 of the last 27 days have had measurable rain.
Counting today, the last 7 consecutive days have had rain.

ANOTHER LIGHTNING TRAGEDY: We dread news like this, but it happened at Lake
Lanier about 35 miles NE of Atlanta Sunday. Lightning struck a group of
people at Buford Dam Park at the lake. Three persons were killed instantly
and six others injured.

ROAMING AROUND: 114 in Death Valley was the USA hot spot Sunday...lows this
morning included 38 at Barter Island, Alaska and 35 in Yellowstone National
Park, Cut Bank, Montana and Custer, South Dakota...the tropics are quiet and
the Birmingham Metro has good air today.

MY TINY CORNER OF THE WORLD: At 5:12 this morning, I declared myself
completely back to normal. (That's when my little footsies first touched the
floor.) It was so nice to get little Miss Molly out for an early morning
walk-the first time we have been on the full half-mile walk in over a week.

That little girl and I felt like we were on vacation. Everything is so super
lush and green. Even the Old Crow Creek is running again. That's a small
stream at the upper end of the walking track that only runs during wet
weather. As we were walking along it, one of the community rabbits jumped
out of Hare Haven in front of Molly. Before I could recover, she had jerked
me completely around and she jumped into the Old Crow Creek before I could
react. She got muddy feet. Of course, the rabbit escaped. For the first
time, we finally got to see and hear one of our friends-the old crow. It was
music to our ears. It is amazing how we get so attached to the little tiny
things in nature that we miss them if we don't see them every day...Nary a
mosquito yet. Cheers. Three cheers for that! Life goes on.
